Hope someone can help in plain English, I am having to rebuild my diff due to shredding a spur gear I don't have any problems in assembling the Diff but wanted to know if there is a method for ensuring the correct tightness of the diff has been achieved.

any help would be appreciated

Personally I keep tightening the diff nut until I can't turn over the spur gear with my thumb when holding both wheels.

I find doing it as the manual works well for me. Fully tight then one turn back.
