Mate, Part you need is U195G, hi-torque drive belt... I don't have any new ones, but may have one used in my pile of junk, if you get desperate.... sure someone on here will have a new one for you though... Good luck! Alex |

Hi,
its getting worse. I visited a shop and he had lots of parts, and i have his LAST bag with 2 belts. I have mounted them but on the first run they allready make that cracking sound when i hit the throttle. The have max tension set and i expect them do worn fast. TM |

TWO belts? Shouldn't need two at a time, if it's the correct part...... it is the Cat / ProCat / BossCat that had the twin short belts in the rear..... If it's the correct part, then it should be easy to get good tension on the belt, without being too tight (too tight may cause problems). Are you sure it's the belts that are slipping, and not the diff? Do you have the couple mm of deflection in the belts, when you remove the transmission side plate screws (as per the Shotgun manual step 14)? Might also want to check the Differential Adjustment, step 2, Track Settings on page 19 of the manual... Let us know how you get on! Alex

kicking this back to live.
Since the last post this car has been running 20 packs with a silvercan. Still i want my two other survivors also running. 1 x shotgun runner. 2 x cougars belt less. Is there anyone can tell me how i technical describe the belt and find a belt shop online ? 71T is it a timing belt , does it have a DPI like a pinion...etc. The diff and pulley are in decent shape , i want to try a new belt first. Both the cougers are missing a belt , and lexan body. For the rest they are in great shape. Tommy |

hi all.
I have ordered some stock belts. the pitch or tooth distance is a stock value. I have ordered a standart mxl 72T belt. or 0.08" inch. The rollout of the belt matched perfect. (try to ) Keep you posted.... regards Tommy |

looks like my post with links didn't got approval.
i have very good results. "schumacher cougar brushless" just enter this on youtube. if a movie shows up with a cougar with clear body and orange wheels. Thats mine. That car is running a 10.5 X12 stock LRP. My shotgun truck is running with the same belt. That has a special top pulley as well. On beltingoline i found ALU pulleys with a 4mm hole and a setscrew. I got a 22T mxl pulley ( one additional ) Flatten the shaft a bit like a motor , and fixed the pulley with the setscrew. The pulley needed some skimming, i used a hudy collecter lath and took 1.5mm of the total diameter. It takes time as its not the perfect tool for the job. But it is worth the time. My shotgun is now safe for the brushless power of nowedays. And with the alu pulley it is industructible. |
