No, but if its not to hard I might!

How hard was it mate? Was it easy to get the gear mesh and mounts right?

More importantly how does it go! bet its mental!

The engine was fairly easy to switch. The only thing that took most of the time was repositioning the servos and reciever.

I havent yet run it yet but im hoping for it to be at least 65-70mph as ive changed the gearing ration aswell by using the middle cog on the pinion.I couldn't fit the biggest pinion without cutting and welding so left it for another day.

Did you have to move the purple alloy posts, and cut the top deck down a bit?

Do you think it will work with the rascal two speed, and where did you get that manifold from?

Cheers

Here are a few pics without the shell.

The engine and pipe is off a schumacher xtr.

I havent thought of the 2 speed conversion yet but i suppose it will be possible.

The alloy post near to the engine stayed the same but the others had to be repositioned. The top deck was cut and shortened. The parts of the deck where the reciever sits had to be removed.

By the way i started it up today and ran it to tune the engine as it was stored for a long time.

The low speed setting on the carb was fine as it was pulling wheelies instantly, but the gear mesh was a bit too tight and i ended up stripping the spur. Ive ordered another from schumacher for further testing another day.

For me, rc is about having fun and doing the stuff I would love to do on real cars but cant afford to!! So I buy an rc then find the biggest motor that will fit in it and put it in. Then once the oversteer grin has subsided I buy a different car and do the same to that.

When i first saw that rascal my first thought was if a .21 will fit, so will a .28!!

NOVAROSSI RASCAL .28 COMING SOON TO A THREAD NEAR YOU!!

Was only joking mate! From what i saw in your vid, a .28 would launch your car into space! The nova 8 port .28 is manhandling my 4.1kg 4wd car right now, putting it into 1.5-2kg 2wd car would be a little crazy!

rcrevolution - Hi, ive been measuring up to do this conversion to my rascal. Just wonderd if you could answer a couple of questions and put a couple more pictures up. Mines already got the two speed and looks like it will line up.

1. The engine, using original fusion mounts, hangs over the edge of the chassis so you can only out 2 screws in. Im going to make a plate so I can extend the chassis, is this wise and what you have done? have you got any pictures?

2. The post nearest the engine doesnt look like it will go back without hitting the block, but you say urs is, how did you do this?

Cheers for any help.

Hi Markc,

The Answer to the first question is that I also made a plate from 3mm Aluminium to overhang the engine. See the pic.

http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/1116/dsc00063fv0.jpg

If youre having problems lining up the engine do the following-

1) cut a aluminium plate(3mm),

2) mount the engine onto the posts and then mount the posts onto the Aluminium plate.

3) Now mount the plate onto the chassis so that the gears mesh nicely(not too tight)

4)You may have to cut the engine post by about 4mm to get a nice gear fit.

5) dont worry about the fuel tank not fitting properly because you can reposition it a little.

Hope this helps if not let me know and ill try to explain better.
