Hello -

Just wondering if there are other engine choices for the XTR, or maybe there is a conversion engine mount out there to adapt small block or big block engines?

I got my XTR well used and the engine is roached, but I have a few small blocks and big blocks lying around that are good. Seems the XTR uses a "mid" block.....which I do not have :(

Anybody?

thunder tiger big block crankcase lug have closer mount holes then the 'norm' , so what u'll have too do is mount/rest engine on mount an mark lug where have to drill a hole, also the thottle linkage plastic end of linkage would need switching as the ball end on thunder carb is tat bigger then the 'norm'. Then the last thing to factor in is exhaust manifold as the stock/thunder tiger will only fit its own brand due to using O ring type header gasket wheres as others use a full rubber which is larger than actual opening of header pipe.

either another TT 21 or TT 28 are direct fits

or with same tweeks an another manifold can use any pull/rota start engine big block

Thanks, will give it a shot. I have a few good big blocks that I am not using at the moment and will see if a simple re-drilling of the holes will suffice Big smile
